Dental Crowns, Inlays and Onlays
These procedures can save a heavily damaged or decayed tooth.
Restorative dental care
Dental crowns, Inlays and onlays are used when a tooth is heavily damaged or decayed where there may not be sufficient healthy tooth remaining to support a filling.
We frequently use Emax, Inceram, Procera, Zirconia, Lava and Empress ceramics depending on your requirements and clinical situation. Alternatively, you can benefit from cerec (ceramic reconstruction) technology which allows us to design and manufacture your new tooth right here at our practice using CAD CAM technology and have it fitted in just one visit.
Inlays, Onlays and Crowns are used in both general and cosmetic dentistry
We usually advise the use of an onlay to restore a badly damaged tooth. Because it is bonded in place, an onlay will strengthen and reinforce your tooth to give you the confidence to eat what you want and smile again.
In cosmetic dentistry, we utilise ceramic crowns to cover misshapen or discoloured teeth, to hold a bridge in place or to cover a dental implant.
